2. In short

This site uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools, no forms and no embedded third-party content (fonts come from your operating system — no webfonts such as Google Fonts). We do not actively collect personal data.

3. Hosting via GitHub Pages

This site is served by GitHub Pages, operated by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, GitHub technically processes connection data (IP address, date/time, browser type, requested URL) in server log files. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of this site). GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; details are in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

4. Client-side GitHub API call

When the landing page loads, your browser queries the GitHub API (api.github.com) to determine the latest release version and download links; your IP address is transmitted to GitHub in that request. Without JavaScript no API call is made (the static fallback links keep working).

5. Note on the software

BatteryBar OSS itself does not transmit data. Its optional update check calls api.github.com only after your consent (first-start dialog or manual menu entry) and only over HTTPS; declined or unanswered means it never checks.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for Kiel e.g. the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD).

7. Encryption

All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS, provided by GitHub Pages).
